The Mechanical Engineering Technology (Manufacturing) programme is designed to fulfill the need of the manufacturing sector in Malaysia which has grown rapidly since more than 20 years ago. The Faculty of Engineering Technology has contributed immensely towards producing and developing a mechanical engineering technology program capable of satisfying the needs of the manufacturing industry. The principles are to develop and implement manufacturing processes as well as products. Manufacturing engineer’s activities focus on the design and operation of integrated systems for the production of high-quality, economical, and competitive products. This programme has been designed to groom students to be a balanced mechanical or manufacturing engineers, in both technical and generic skills. Our students experienced hands-on learning process, problem solving skills enhancement and exposed to the mechanical engineering technologies, especially in manufacturing field. In order to meet global economic challenges and short product life cycle trends, students are also exposed to entrepreneurship skills, together with sustainability and lifelong learning philosophies.
