GROUND HANDLING - RAMP SERVICES

This programme was developed upon request from the industry due to high demand of Aircraft Ground Handling employee as result of government policies to reduce the usage of Aircraft Ground Handling Technician (AGHT) is developed to cater to the industry manpower demand. Potential trainees are trained and recruited in becoming excellent round crew member. Committee was set up to oversee all requirements that include training material and recruiting process. Recruiting process focuses on SPM candidates with no job opportunities to give them a second chance in their career. Course duration is 6 months with 3 months at Admal Aviation College (theory) and another 3 months at the industries OJT. The second 3 month practical training (OJT) at the industry will determine their readiness to be absorb permanently based on the performance, attitude, discipline. Its syllabus is governed with the several subjects such as Basic Baggage Handling, Dangerous Goods Basic Handling, Ramp Safety, Basic Ground Handling and Ground Equipment Maintenance. It also includes several soft skill (core ability) subjects such as Basic Working Communication, Personal Behaviour Skill and Work Ethics Awareness. Upon joining the programme, students will build their strong basis knowledge and experience through theory and practical training before industry offers any positions based on the availability in ground handling such as passenger handling, aircraft handling, baggage handling, cargo handling, flight operations, baggage services (MLO) and inflight catering for inbound and outbound international commercial airlines in Malaysia. On completion of their training, they will be able to work with this organization as ground handling staffs.
